Back in the saddle again!

Hey there! It has been another great week here in Tennessee! Joe wrapped up his Dermatology rotation this week, and got a job offer from the doctor he was working with! It, however, was an invitation to come work for him in 3 yrs...in Indiana. Joe felt pretty good though, he was told by one of the nurses that he is only the second PA student that he has said he would hire. This guy has a reputation for being pretty tough, but I knew for some reason he would end up liking Joe. Next week he is moving on to Trauma at Vanderbilt in Nashville. He will be living in Nashville during the week and coming home on weekends. So please keep him in your prayers as he will be traveling a bunch! He has also begun the job search and has a couple of good contacts lined up. We are anxious to know where life leads us next, and we know God will lead us in the right direction. He hasn't failed us yet!

I too had a good week. I got to ride horses this week!! I haven't been able to since we don't get home to my parents much anymore, and a couple we attend church with has 4 (2 of which they are trying to break). When Marsha found out I could ride she pulled me aside and talked me into coming out to their house to help out. I had such a good time. It felt so good, and still familiar, to ride again. It was like riding a bike! Hopefully I will be going over there more in the weeks to come. I am excited!


Here are some pictures from last weekend. Joe and I went to Nashville for the day and checked out the Parthenon in Centennial Park, and then shopped at my favorite new mall. We ended the night with dinner at Pei Wei. We love that place! The city of Nashville built Centennial Park for the celebration of their Bi-centennial in 1897. They created many buildings one of which is an exact replica of the Parthenon in Greece. The first structure, like many of the others in the park, were not built to be permanent buildings. They ended up keeping and restructuring it to be permanent when the community protested its destruction. It is quite amazing on the outside, and there is a small museum inside. There is also a ginormous statue of Athena inside that is supposed to be like the one that was in the actual Parthenon. It was all pretty neat. There were also gardens to walk through and we found a snow cone man as we walked through! We have made several trips down to Nashville now and we really like it. The downtown is really a great place to explore. We look forward to more trips in the future!

Oh~ Check this out! They were having a huge Nickelodeon thing in the park. It sounded so fun. And...some people were playing a very organized game of ultimate Frisbee right next to the Parthenon. Nashville is a happening place!

We also went over to a couple's house that we attend church with after services on Sunday night. Kenneth and Betsy are the nicest people you could ever meet and they have invited us to do several things with them. We had a nice cookout and some yummy homemade ice cream. It tasted like a Frosty from Wendy's. DELICIOUS! Here is a pic of Joe playing "corn hole" and we also played washers (they had never played so he had to show them the ropes). After all washers are a Costello specialty.
